One of the greatest gifts in life you can give to your children is love for books or reading books. When that is done very early, you have set them on the path of wisdom and knowledge. I started reading when I was very little and through my teen life. My family members were highly educated and loved books. I will go into the family library and bury myself reading. I never left the family library until I had finished a book. By the time I was in my teens, I knew the history of the world: whether it was historical facts, Second World War and the unjust treatment of the Jewish people-the holocaust, Apartheid, intellectual or scholarly discussion- whatever; I just knew so much that you would think I had experienced those things. I did not know much about men and dating growing up. I was always reading.

By the time I was in high school, I knew I was headed for Journalism. I was the best in my Literature class. Then as I was finishing my high school, I accepted the Lord as my personal Savior, and He redirected my steps. I went into full time ministry. The love of God in my heart through the power of the Holy Spirit overwhelmed me. I ended up at Prairie Bible Institute, Three Hills, Alberta, Canada: now called Prairie University. After my study in Canada, there was still a strong desire to study Journalism. I came to United States to study Journalism. I write and publish books: and launched a movie trailer in August 2019. It is that early upbringing that taught me to read: parents and family who loved reading and bequeathed it to their children.

Reading and writing enrich the mind: and expand your horizon in knowledge and understanding of other nations and the world. You can learn so much by reading a good book. I have read classics, spiritual powerful books, etc. They will fill this website if I start enumerating them.

I also was raised partially by my grandmother when my father passed away in a tragic death. She furnished me with stories. After supper, she will tell me stories upon stories when I was very young. I would listen with full attention. With a good compelling book, you can create a movie; or you can create a powerful story for a movie through reading or thinking. It stimulates the human mind. You say Uche, I can’t do that! It comes back to the question:

Are writers made, or are they born to write?

For me, I think they are born to write. When I am not reading, I am miserable; when I am not writing, I am miserable. Creating stories comes to me so naturally by the grace of God. I have many story ideas waiting to be written. Some are still unfinished. I will never finish my story ideas until I die.

What are qualities of a good movie or a book?

It takes time to write a good book or create a good movie. it is not all the shoddiness for money in our culture today, and a book is finished in two weeks or months. A good book takes time to create. You have to think, plot, plan, edit, and move the story to on real purposes plausible to life.

In as much as you want to entertain, what will people learn or get out of your book, or movie that will help their lives grow to a higher level of purpose and enrich their destiny? I have many books that are like my friends: I take them with me wherever I go. They do not die; they remain relevant and timely always for me. It was because they were well written, and I learned so much from the books. They became my friends.
As you read a good book or watch a good movie, you will know much time, thinking and discipline went into the work. You begin to learn discipline yourself and how others think. It takes a lot of discipline to write. If you are contemplating to write, I warn you it is a lonely life, and takes a lot of discipline. It is something you must love to do, to be able to do it.
You learn style in writing if you love to read, and you create your own style of writing: you learn how people put words together; and how they shape and edit words. It takes time to write a book. It must be edited properly before the world sees it.

I have learned so much in my life by reading good books, reading magazines, and watching good movies. These things are dying out because our society sees only money in these things. Good books and good movies are diminishing in our societies. They affect intellectual perpetuation in a nation: that crumbles a nation.

This is also because we hate ‘diversity” in our culture. What makes you think only a white person can produce a good book or a good script? Now books written by blacks and minorities are banned and taken out of the libraries and book- shelves. We have seen Hollywood excluding other races in movie ventures; we have seen books written by talented and brilliant authors from other races excluded from marketing; we have seen the rich whatever they write, even if it is nonsense is marketed into millions, and put in best seller list: and the poor author brilliant and intelligent, their works are despised and ignored only to be acknowledged when they are gone.

This is the beginning of a downfall of a nation. Why?

Because books and movies reveal the cultural, intellectual, social, spiritual, educational, political, etc., life of the people; and what is happening in that nation. When an author sits to write, he or she reflects on the problems and joys of that culture; and tries to capture it for his or her readers: sometimes for a change or exaltation.

There are those whose works are fiction, nonfiction, romance, poets, artists, historians, scientific writers, reporters, etc. All of these writers are thinkers and reflectors. They sit and think. It is akin to all cultures and nations regardless of race. To make one race the superior of art, culture, or intellectual curiosity; or make money to dominate these areas; you destroy the best process of cultural learning of a nation. That is not the way God made it. It is human arrogance to suppress others more gifted from other races.

For example, the world is lamenting on the destruction and vandalism of Iraqi and Syrian art and culture. ISIS destroyed and vandalized Iraqi -world renounced, historic building and culture of former Babylonian famous empire.

The whole thing started when Iraq was invaded by America and her allies. Everything in Iraq was looted and stolen and brought to Western nations. Many of these ancient nation’s origin began before the coming of Jesus. They were renounced for the greatness of their kingdoms. All these great ancient nations have been plundered, vandalized, destroyed: and their arts stolen by Western nations and others. The same was African arts when the kingdoms fell. During the times of these ancient kingdoms, America and Britain have not even come into existence. What makes you think other nations of the world are not intelligent enough? Is it because they are not white or from Western nations?

These nations have ruled kingdoms and had great and powerful art? I think this is great ignorance and foolishness on the part of Western nations. For example, in dealing with Iran, Western nations forget this is a former ancient kingdom of Persia. This people are shrewd and wise. You can’t insult them. They can read your hypocrisy like a book. That is why Western nations are going nowhere with Iran in any negotiations. You must be honest with them. They are very smart and wise, wiser than you think them to be.

Many artists and writers don’t care about the money: but want their works enrich the nation and the world. Many of them die poor, and some famed when they are already gone. Without them, cultural, intellectual, spiritual and social aspects of a nation are destroyed and undocumented. Nobody will know the culture of that nation. Culture embodies: language, educational life, political, spiritual, sex, social life, etc., of a nation.
Another generation coming after this generation is gone, will unravel what it was like living in 21^st century through the writings of the ones who lived before them.
Would a nation prefer money to recordings of historical facts that make a nation great? This is what America must decide as they exclude other races, minorities, other nationalities from showcasing their books, or making movies. This tendency leads to a fall of a nation. Everything is not “money or diversity propaganda.” You can’t wipe out the culture or history of a people. Then, they are gone and forgotten.

For example, my book: Choices Determine Destiny: Is her love doomed because … In Cambridge, Massachusetts where I live as a local author, I am not allowed to present my book at Harvard Coop in Cambridge, Massachusetts. People come all over the nation to showcase and defend their books. The reason is that I am a self -publisher. But my first two books: The Nanny Crises In America: The Abandoned Children,” and “Poems of Hope For Our Turbulent Time,” I defended the books there. But now, I am a Self – publisher or an Independent publisher, I can’t do that again.

Until these trends are changed in American culture, our children will not learn the great value in cultural, intellectual heritage and diversity in America. They are given a one – sided view of the enrichment of cultural and intellectual heritage in America. They end up feeling the little they know is best and feel superior to those who know better than them from other cultures and nations. They end up despising others. They will not be enriched to ramble like me who was given the greatest opportunity to read widely and interact with other cultures, not like me. These things create bias in a nation. This is why race problems are increasing in our societies! It stems from “cultural diversity propaganda.”

This goes back to what I have been emphasizing about- cultural diversity in America. You can’t claim only one race knows it all. It is human arrogance and foolishness. It leads to a downfall of a nation.

Expose your children to good books and movies. They will grow up seeing the world in a different way: enriched with a great knowledge of the world, not a fraction of the society; they will grow up loving people not like them and learning from them.
